As the owner of a thriving catering business, Chef Michelle Lainez prepared and served lots of beautiful salmon. An avid dog lover, she saved and dried the leftover skins for her dog Sammy and gave them to him as a crunchy, healthy treat. He went nuts over them! When the pandemic forced her to temporarily shutter Chef Michelle & Co. Catering, she launched Vamonos L.A., a food truck in the heart of the Westside. She soon noticed that her customers often ordered sides of bacon and sausage for their dogs with their breakfast burritos. And she thought, “Why not share Sammy’s favorite treat with every dog?”
